Experience the Great Expectations Boat ride, Haunted House of 1859, the Victorian School, plus much more. Dickens World takes visitors on a fascinating journey through Dickens’ lifetime as they step back into Dickensian England and are immersed in the urban streets, sounds and smells of the 19th century. With a host of captivating attractions, Dickens World features the “Great Expectations” dark boat ride, the Haunted house of 1859, Dotheboy’s Hall Victorian School Room with touch screen technology, a 4D high definition cinema show in Peggotty’s Boathouse, the Britannia Theatre – an animatronic stage show introducing you to some of Dickens’ characters and Fagin’s Den, a soft play area for younger visitors. Dickens World is based on a credible and factual account of Charles Dickens works and the world in which he lived. Working with The Dickens Fellowship great attention has been paid to the authenticity of the time, characters and story lines. How to Get There Dickens World Leviathan Way Chatham Maritime Kent ME4 4LL Dickens World is located at Chatham Maritime adjacent to the Dockside outlet centre and the Odeon Cinema. It is easily accessible by the Medway tunnel via the M2 (A2) and the A289. Public Transport: Our nearest mainline rail station is Chatham which is a 30 minute walk from Dickens World. The Dockside bus service runs every 10 minutes via Chatham and Rochester town centres. Driving Directions: From the M2 coast bound at junction 1 follow Chatham Maritime anchor sign. Also from M2 London bound at junction 4 follow Chatham Maritime Anchor sign. Parking Dickens World has in excess of 800 car parking spaces and plenty of disabled access spaces available, all available free of charge when visiting Dickens World. Dickens World also has two allocated bicycle racks with allocation of up to twelve bicycles |
